Dagens tisdagstrio från Ugglan & Boken har temat: "Första" eller "sista" i boktiteln
Det här var svårare än vad man skulle tro. Men till slut hittade jag tre böcker, alla på engelska, så det blir "Last" och "First" här idag.
BREAKING: Nuclear weapon detonates over Washington Historian Jon Keller is on a trip to Switzerland when the world ends. As the lights go out on civilisation, he wishes he had a way of knowing whether his wife, Nadia, and their two daughters are still alive. More than anything, Jon wishes he hadn't ignored Nadia's last message. Twenty people remain in Jon's hotel. Far from the nearest city and walled in by towering trees, they wait, they survive. Then one day, the body of a young girl is found. It's clear she has been murdered. Which means that someone in the hotel is a killer. As paranoia descends, Jon decides to investigate. But how far is he willing to go in pursuit of justice? And what kind of justice can he hope for, when society as he knows it no longer exists?
Lacey Barnes has dreamed of being an actress for as long as she can remember. So when she gets the opportunity to star in a movie alongside one of Hollywoods hottest actors, she doesnt hesitate to accept the part.
But Lacey quickly learns that life in the spotlight isnt as picture perfect as she imagined. Shes having trouble bonding with her costars, her father has hired the definition of a choir boy, Donavan Lake, to tutor her, and somewhere along the way shes lost her acting mojo. And just when it seems like things couldnt get any worse, it looks like someone on set is deliberately trying to sabotage her.
As Laceys world spins out of control, it feels like the only person she can count onwhether its helping her try to unravel the mystery of who is out to get her or snap her out of her acting funkis Donavan. But what she doesnt count on is this straight-laced boy becoming another distraction. With her entire future riding on this movie, Lacey knows she cant afford to get sidetracked by a crush. But for the first time in her life Lacey wonders if its true that the best stories really do happen when you go off script.
In the tradition of Gayle Forman and John Green comes this extraordinary YA debut about a blind teen girl navigating life and love in high school.
Parker Grant doesn't need 20/20 vision to see right through you. That's why she created the Rules: Don't treat her any differently just because she's blind, and never take advantage. There will be no second chances. Just ask Scott Kilpatrick, the boy who broke her heart.
When Scott suddenly reappears in her life after being gone for years, Parker knows there's only one way to react--shun him so hard it hurts. She has enough on her mind already, like trying out for the track team (that's right, her eyes don't work but her legs still do), doling out tough-love advice to her painfully naive classmates, and giving herself gold stars for every day she hasn't cried since her dad's death three months ago. But avoiding her past quickly proves impossible, and the more Parker learns about what really happened--both with Scott, and her dad--the more she starts to question if things are always as they seem. Maybe, just maybe, some Rules are meant to be broken.
