Efter att ha skrivet ett gäng recensioner om Kasie West-böcker på raken är det svårt att förnya sig, då böckerna i grund och botten är ganska lika. 

Det är ungdomar, det är kärlek, det är gulligt och fluffigt, med en tvist. I den här boken är det som är annorlunda att Lacey, vår huvudkaraktär, är i Hollywood och spelar in sin första film, tillsammans med en stor ungdomsskådis. Vi får följa filmen samtidigt som Laceys "vardagsliv". Boken har dessutom lite av ett mysterium inmixat i handlingen och vi får se hur det utvecklas över tid.

Själv älskar jag ju oftast Wests premisser, men den här var mest bara tidsfördriv och lättlyssnad. Jag blev inte engagerad och jag tyckte boken var okej, men kanske ingen jag kommer läsa om. Hollywood och skådisar intresserar mig inte så mycket, utan jag läser hellre om lite mer "jordnära" situationer och vardagsliv, vilket West har i en del andra böcker hon skrivit.

Fame, Fate and the First Kiss är en ok West-bok i Hollywoodmiljö.
